BUYER BE WARE!!!!!!

Wincherster's customer service out right sucks!!!! i bought a brand new winchester model 70 in 308 cal. it was a ulitimate shadow stainless steel gun. it had a defect and went back to winchester for repairs.after 14 weeks of having it they deemed the gun couldnt be fixed so they would replace it. THATS when all hell broke loose!! They sent me a plain blued barred model 70 instead. They WILL NOT REPLACE MY STAINLESS STEEL WITH AN OTHER STAINLESS! IF I WANTED A STAINLESS STEEL MODEL it would cost $300 more at first estimeate!! talked to a higher up today and he said he would cut me a deal at $200 more. i DO NOT WANT MORE than what i PAID FOR, JUST WHAT I PAID FOR. he then told me i was just out of luck take it or leave it. kicker is that in the last 3 years i have bought 2 winchester select feild over and unders and that model seventy. i grew up with winchesters my whole life and they dont work with a life long custmer at all!!!!! In MY opinion i wouldnt ever buy a wincherster if i were you!! were good guns my if anything wrong with it ya better just use it as a fence post!!!! ITs a company they just need to let die and NOT REVIVE!! let us have memories of winchester was king!!

That's too bad... Ive always been a big fan of Browning Citoris, have owned a couple Winchester rifles, but really was bummed when Browning absorbed Winchester, then dropped the lever action rifles soon after... :banghead:  I heard they plan to bring them back, but I just thought it was a terrible PR move even if they do pan to bring em back.  Yeah Cowboy, that sounds really lame, you'd think if they offered you a blued model, like they were having issues with their SS models or something, they would give you the difference BACK... :doah:  That is just messed up... have you given up on them or are you gonna try someone else there...?

My question is "why are you dealing with them?" Did'nt your gun dealer step up for ya? I would put some pressure on whoever sold ya the gun.

keep pushing their buttons, all it takes is to get ahold of that right "management type" and you'll get an equal deal out of them.   for 200$ you think they would just eat it to have a happy customer.

pout.. I agree.. love my citori.. gonna be using it at state this weekend

:censored: :censored: :censored: Keep pushing the issue, eventually they will come to hate you for calling, writing, emailing, etc. and they will (hopefully) replace the SS with another SS.  STAY ON IT!!!!!!

Where did you buy it from?  The vendor should back you up too.

well i hate to say it cause its the last thing i would resort to, but get some legal advise and let them know your going to be contacting a lawyer if they dont replace it with the same type of gun you bought or if they going to replace it with a new blue barreled one then they better refund you the price difference you paid. because now there just hoping that you'll go away.

Myself, I don't understand this whole thing. Something don't ad up.

Do they not make your model anymore?

If not?

Is this the closest gun they make in Value?

I have never had a Winchester or Browning that needed factory service and I have had more than the average guy when it comes to the number of guns owned.

Plenty of trouble with Ruger's though..one Black Hawk the barrel was tapped in crooked. If you put a straight edge on the frame you could see it very easily. All they did was retap the SAME frame and install the same barrel. That's real service. I traded it off the day after getting it back. Same with a stainless 77 had extractor problems. Sent it to them twice and they never did fix it. Down the road!

 Bufflehead ,
they dont make the ultimate shadow anymore in stainless steel, so they just sent me a blued ultimate shadow instead. from the old one to the new one they wernt even close. the blued version looked like a very cheap toy-ish looking gun. i was down graded big time!!!!!!

Not to tick you off, that's not my intention but they offered to give you the only gun close to yours as they no longer make your model and they are now giving you a full refund  and your still upset?

IMO, you haven't seen what bad service is yet

Try Beretta or Benelli...the inter-net is full of horror stories

The Shadow model is a entry level bolt action..much like the ADL Remington or some of the more inexpensive Savages. If you can afford it, try and save up for a better model in most cases you get what you pay for. I know. things are tight for everybody and I understand if it's not in the cards.

Good Luck on whatever you decide

it was the only stainless steel model they had before the weather extreme. and it took a whole lot of ass chewing to get my money back. plain and sime they tried to take advantage of a long long winchester surporter and customer. NO LONGER!!  THEY CAN JUST KISS MY --- FROM NOW ON!

Glad it turned out for you.  It seems that a lot of different types of companies hold their customers in contempt these days.
