Friday Sept 18th Lake Geneva report.

I've missed most of the Summer Fishing on Geneva due to the increased amount of time spent in MN this year. It doesn't seem that I missed to much though by the lack of daytime reports. I've been hitting Geneva regularly lately and hope to start reporting more often.

Fished with David Wiggins and son Lowell from 5:30 am to 12:30 pm. We started out working tandem 1 oz spinner baits with a trailer. Had a nice L/M and lost it when she jumped in 15 fow. As it starts to get light I switch off the spinners and use some heaver hardware and troll for suspended pike.

Our baits are only running about 7 ft deep at 3 mph. The pike are suspended at various depths and we troll as for out as 35 fow and seem to get our best action between 17 and 22 ft. Today we got a 31 and 33 inch along with 4 others. We also got one cutoff and lost 3 other pike. We then switched to smallie fishing and were more successful than most of the week due to a N/W wind that was almost nonexistent, but better than the 5 mph east wind pattern we've been stuck on for 2 weeks.

Our smallies were mostly caught in 26 to 35 fow. None of today's bass were very big, but fun on ultra light. During the week we managed a few dandy smallies inches wise that looked very thin for this time of the year. We'll be back out on Sunday in search of that one giant pike of a lifetime.

**If all the theories were correct, there wouldn't be a fish left in all of our lakes and rivers and streams.

See ya on the water,

Lee
