for metro i am using my mossberg 500 with a fully rifled ported barrel with a nikon slughunter     3-9x40 scope shooting lightfeild(sp) 3 inch 546 grain sabot slugs.

for upnorth(park rapids area) i am using my weatherby vanguard .300WSM with a nikon monarch 4-16x42 scope. shooting winchester supreme ballistic silvertip 150 grain bullets knocks them down at ridiculous distances. got one at 300 yards 2 years ago and it only walked 15 feet into the woods before falling over dead

Savage 110 bolt action 30.06 with a Nikon 3x9-40 scope.  Winchester Super X softpoint 165 grain bullet.  Homemade shooting sticks, Folgers coffee for the wee hours of the morning and left over Halloween candy to get me thru the day.

I use my wife's grandfathers Rem 721 in a 270 topped with a Luepold 3X9 Varix II scope.  It's old but never fails me.

  • The brothers with my 2006 buck.
Remmington 7600 pump action 30-06. Winchester 165 grain soft point. 3x9 Buschnell. Unless they walk right under the stand. Then I just jump on their backs and wrestle 'um to death. That way I don't ruin any meat.

Remington 740 30-06 with 3.5x10x40 Leupold VXIII and Fed Fusion 150 gr bullets.  I just inherited this gun so it is a virgin to me.  Would be the high point of the season if I could knock something down with it this weekend!

hey, Luke... let me know how you like the gun... I have to chance to buy one from a friend of my dad's who no longer hunts and I think it'll be a nice gun. same caliber too.

As for what I use now... ole' Betsy is my TC omega 50cal... I shoot 250 gr surefires with 150 gr powder.  I have a Nikon Omega scope on it with quick release rings, so I can use it for both black powder and rifle seasons.

My bread and butter is a remington 700 bdl... 260 cal  I use hand reloads, 120 gr accu-tips.

If a gun kills people then I can blame a pen for my misspells?
