How would I go about deer hunting the Superior National Forest next year? If you do hunt it share some stories and tips. Thanks

I have never hunted it, but if it is like most public land it will be busy.  Make the commitment to survey the land from google earth or something like that and plan to hunt more than a mile into the woods.  Find some spots from the computer then go walk them this winter or spring looking for some deer sign.  If you find something promising mark it on GPS and plan on getting out there extremely early on opening day and stay all day.  I would imagine that most hunters will stay within 1/2 mile of the road so when they start moving in they should push any deer to you.  This is a plan I have always wanted to try, but just have never done it for one reason or the other.
