Heading out today to put one of those 50 gal barrels out with the 2" holes in the bottom. Fill with corn and see what comes.

birds/deer/bunnies.... they can all eat. I'll try to get down to the shack this weekend if the weather is nicer than it has been.. I have a camera that's been out since the end of the deer season.

What do you use for the pheasents when you have shelled corn? I blew a spot out in the field and dumped 2 five gallon buckets spread out on the ground and the deer found it in less than a day. I was putting out some hay and a little corn for the deer in a different spot. Its just like the dnr site says. The bigger doe's kick the little ones away. Had about 30 deer out there yesterday.

Feeder with a fence around it will help keep the deer out.  The woven wire that you can buy from concrete reinforcement works well.  I think it is about 6" x 6" or something like that...just enough to let a pheasant pass thru.  You can get this at Menards.
