pout you kinda look like the old kung fu master ( I mean if you were a small bald asian man with a gray fu manchu) .. we may have to find you an old robe to wear out there and few young apprentices to carry your gun and shells for you.  :rotflmao:

and red you left the word "not" out between the "how to"

I kinda feel like the Karate Kid when I'm around Pout.....

And Beeker, I omitted the word when thinking about the last station..... you said "don't do what we  do" and I obeyed the masters.............

theres been many a time when I made my score by the last few stations and just as many like last weekend where I blow it on the last few stations. it's still a learning experience and I have allot of fun doing it. when it quits being fun I'll have to find something new to do.. so far I don't see it losing it's "fun" anytime soon.  dang nice day out there.. I'm going to hit forest lake tonight for the league I'm in there.

Aaahhhhh Yessssss.... Young Red Mantis learn very quick and he wise for his age... wiseman once say: do as we say and NOT as we do.... :rotflmao:  Yep Beeker... couldnt agree more, thats one of the things I really like about sporting clays.... even if a station (or three ) blows a good round/day out of the water, after a few moments of sulking, :banghead: :taz: I am not not a basket case like Id be in golf, poker, monopoly, bocce ball, etc. ... I right away am thinking positive, trying to figure out how to improve/learn from the mistake(s?) made, and try to turn a negative into a positive if at all possible....  like Bruce Lee once said... "become the water in the glass."  or was it "be the ball Danny, be the ball..."  Nope, I think that was Caddyshack....

That was Caddyshack!!!  Can we start chanting "Noonan" when the other guy draws up and aims for a pigeon? That would be hysterical...

Young Red Mantis once say "drive it like you stole it"..... and then we tipped the golf cart over.... so sporting clays is much safer....

I shoot better when I'm being heckled.. it comes from shooting with 3 older brothers. plus it takes my mind off the score.  last night I decided to see how much a "choke" really effects my shooting.. so I used Full and Modified... well needless to say I shot a 25 out of 50.. full was worthless until I quit leading the target. modified was nice when I was shooting over an open field.. I just have to learn some patients and let em get out there where the choke can open up and hit the dang target. fun experiment

Try shooting slugs....  And I can heckle with the best of them so I will apologize now for my future behavior and language....  just getting it out of the way...

We should try changing chokes after a station, if no one is behind us, and see how that goes.  I will still bring a hand full of rocks just to be on the safe side.

don't forget we'll count it as an X if your able to chase the target down and smash it with your gun stock.. while it's still moving.. once it stops doesn't count

Would a sling shot be legal for back-up?  Years back, I remember a Beverly Hillbilly's episode where Elle May cleaned up at the skeet range using one...  :rotflmao: Beeker how'd the supersportig tourney go this weekend?  I dont know about you, but I sweated out half my weight (so that was a gallon or two ;)) doing landscaping and getting my veggie plots going....

well no official scores are posted yet.. but it would appear that my 82 is good enough for second place.. 1st was an 84 but again he was a sub jr.. so his $$ goes to me since they pay the reduced rate. there were 8 shooters so no punches it would appear. but a wildmarsh gift certificate would be nice to cover the league shoots. anda this weekend I get to sit in a wedding instead of doing vermillion. they added an extra 100 on sunday too..

my brother shot it and said it was state tourney quality targets. I guess there was a few disapointed shooters who didn't realize how tough it can be up there

Always a few of those in every crowd, especially at the Old Vermillion Trail shoots... you see some targets there you dont even see at State shoots... I remember a guy bitching about the targets there once and one of the guys in our squad shut him up by saying... "If ya want the same targets every where you go, go join a trap league!" :rotflmao:  And he was right I think, as long as the targets are consistant for everyone at a shoot, what is the negative in having innovative, and sometimes difficult targets here and there on a course?  The only thing I could see would be if you were a top 5% shooter in the state, & you were bucking to be on the all-state team and some tough targets could bring your avg. score down a little... Big whoopdy-doo!  The remaining 95% have alot of "FUN" with those great targets.... I remember one target on a station there was a teal like target thrown from behind trees atop a huge hill/cliff and you had to decide where to take them while they dropped like 100-150 feet down to you at the bottom....  It was great hearing guys give each other crap and laughing at each other when even experienced shooters were brought to their knees... ;D

:whistling: Red.... are you gonna sell the secret of that station to Cody?  Cody, what ever Red charges you, it will be worth the cost... :rotflmao:  You'll never figure it out without this info.  Cody, when are you thinking of going this weekend?  Pat #1 & #2 are going, and I may go also, but not sure yet... I'll find out when Pat's going.

wonder if those targets are the same or if any of it has changed since the state event there? I'm guessing they had to use some of thsoe throwers? would be interesting to see

Or would they reset them to their original positions?     Almost a dis-advantage if they don't considering other people (us) who shot before the event.

Cody, on the last Blue station (I charge per case of beer for each tip), hopefully it's still set this way, you're shooting a true pair.  One thrower is at the 2 o'clock position behind trees and the other is straight out from you at 25-30 yards I figure.  Shoot the 2 o'clock first since it's much quicker than the other.  The far one throws it up at a high arc away from you, has to be 45 yards minimum by the time you get back to it.  Beeker and TPout went distance first and short second.  Beeker, with his words of wisdom and with TPout's blessing, said "Don't do what we did" and I finished with 3 of 6 by breaking the closest first.  That far one is a huge floater and a big lead to hit..... and I missed..... poorly......

The "Pats" are shooting Sunday morning, dont think I'll be going unless I get some major progress done with lanscaping/yardwork between now and Saturday night.... yes its going to be a tree droping, stump pulling, root chopping extravaganza! :woot: :doah:  Cody... do not be intimidated by the large amount of "X's" on the score sheets.... we all get lucky once and a while at the beginning of the season.... ;) :bonk:

when are the rest of you guys thinking of shooting the next round? end of June?

we're a team the X's all count towards the same goal... which is of course winning a gun at the banquet at the end of the season
