Did you guys get the rain or was it snow?  I want to get out on Roosevelt in Outing but as of Jan 1st 4 inches of snow with 3 inches of slush and 5-6 inches of ice.  Did  this last weekend  increase  the snow layer or burn up the slush??

Down here in the southern part of the state we got alot of rain, for almost a day straight.  it didnt really phase the ice much, It mostly got rid of the snow, but the ice is still about a foot+  thick of good ice and a small layer of about 3 inches of softer ice that melted from the rain.
On the river, I think the ice is a little unsafe, the rain is tough on it, I think ill go out and check it today if I have a chance.  Its been great fishing out there, so Im hoping the ice stays around for a little longer!
Anyone else fish on the river - on right past a Dam, so the ice is never that thick to begin with, maybe 12" when its at its best!  Anyone been out by the Dams near Redwing or Wabasha recently?
