Dead Down Wind

I haven't put to much stock in all this scent lock clothing, but I do use the scent eliminating products. I feel no matter what you do, if the deer get down wind, your busted. Has anyone used the Dead Down Wind scent eliminating system? I've been thinking about giving it a try.

nope, cant say I have.
I have used the scent blocker products that have been available for years. results?
not sure.
I spray my boots, pantlegs, arms including my gloves  and my hat. pretty much anything that will be touching either the ground or branches on the way to the stand.
it just torks me when the come by the trail I walked in on and alarm from the scent left on the trail.

on little tip I learned a long time ago and I do this when ever possible is to mix up a concoction of baking soda and water. fairly heavy on the baking soda. I then shower and using a clean wash cloth, I soak the cloth in this solution and wash my entire self after my usual showering process.
this step of course becomes meaningless if you put on your un prepared pants or coat, dirty from days of hunting prior.

I keep my hunting clothes seperate from the rest of the wash and wash them seperate in scent free laundry detergent. then I hang them out to dry and pack away in a sealed tote.
it sounds like a lot of hassel, but you have to ask yourself if you are ready to take your hunting experience to the next level?

I use a special laundry detergent that makes my hunting clothes smell like dirt.  Works well IMHO.  Then I dry them outside like jiggle does, and keep them hanging outside during the season.
One other thing I do is I don't wear my jacket and hat walking into my stand. That way I don't get all sweaty.

No matter what you do you can always be detected. Sure you can reduce and mask your scent and the more precautions you make the better off you are.

When I used to bowhunt I took every precaution. I took showers in the scent free soap...changed clothes before I went into the woods, wore rubber boots, used all the scent eliminator sprays. I did everything.

Well one afternoon I headed out to my stand and about a 1/2 hr later I noticed some movement to the East of me. I watched and then noticed that the land owners dog appeared to be hot on a trail....hmmm..I wonder what he is trailing.....it was me! He followed my exact path and then when he got to my tree he looked up. Now if a dog can smell me I think a deer can smell me as well.

I don't care what you do....they will smell you, you are in their living room!
