As the nice weather has been thrust upon us and fishing opener is moving near.  I have become curious on what all you guys usually fish for in the summer months.  I would assume most of us try for walleyes but please share your favorite species to fish for. Walleyes, Panfish, Bass, Musky/Pike, Catfish, Trout, etc?

As for me, I do not focus on just one species.  Up at our cabin I will do alot of panfish on or near our raft.  Its pretty easy to go out for an hour or so and catch a nice mess of Sunnies.  When i get out on the boat I will mostly troll for walleyes.  However when Im down here in Winona, there is alot of good bass fishing, so I will mostly focus on them with the occasional panfish trip if I want some more action.
This summer, I think I am going to get into more Trout fishing, I need to take advantage of all the nice streams down here.

Please share, I am interested to know what you all focus on. :fishing2:

Lets see...

Late ice...panfish
Spring...trout
Summer...Pike (since we don't have real good walleye numbers around home)
Fall...Pike
Early ice...Pike

So, I guess..... PIKE! (With a few Muskies thrown in there)

Walleye guy here.  I usually manage to pick up a few bass and pike by accident.  I started out as a bass boy when I first started but got bored with it.  I have to admit though the spring crappie bite is still one of my favorites.  Due to my participation in this years MNO fishing  contest I will be revisiting my past and trying for a trophy largemouth.

Trout and Walleyes in the spring along with crappies, and pretty much anything that bites throughout the summer. And again, trout all the time. A buddy got me hooked on them. So quiet wading up stream and watching nature as you go, trying to guess where the big fish is, or the eaters will be.

Im with ya on that.  I dusted off all my stuff and got out for the first time this year and it was awesome.  So peaceful out there in the streams - when the weather is nice you cant beat it.  Plus I love thinking to myself, "OH, I bet there is a big one sitting in there" and then telling my fishing partner, "I BET I can get one out of this hole right here".

I try to focus my fishing on walleyes but I really like catching whatever bites, that keeps the kids wanting to go back out fishing :king:

Hunting is not life and death. It is more important than that.
