Great opening day!  The fishing is fantastic and the weather has really been a treat.  Which is much different from other openers when we are wondering if it going to snow.  There were many big fish caught yesterday and a lot of nice keepers.  Nothing compares to a fresh Walleye dinner. We are looking forward to another great season!

There were mixed presentations being used but for the most part anchoring and jigging with frozen shiners has been the preferred method.  There were a few boats drifting with spinners and live minnows.  Most anglers were working depths from 12-24 feet of water outside the lighthouse gap.  The better reports seemed to come from the 20-24 foot range.

The forecast for this week looks fantastic!  Highs in the 70’s and lows in the 50’s, sunshine is predicted all week long.
