Water temps in Ely area lakes still remain cool, keeping fish in shallow bays or near shore lines.
With the current forecast, the walleyes should start moving out on the reefs within a week to 10 days.
Burntside Lake temps as of 3 days ago were: 63-64 degrees surface, 62-63 degrees in 12 feet of open water (middle of lake), 50 degrees from 32-49 FOW, then dropped to 49 degrees in 50 FOW.
Lake trout will still be in 25 FOW where it is still around 54 degrees.
Bay temperatures will be much warmer than the same depth in open water, so start fishing shallow and work your way deeper.
