Ann Lake, Sherburne County

Spent the day today at Ann Lake in Sherburne County about 5 miles east of Zimmerman. Great day for the kids, as many little sunfish as you can handle. Smiles all around! Dad's had their turn and few largemouths were caught....nothing too big, 2-3 lbs each and a smaller northern. Trolling and casting the weed lines with shallow cranks and deep dropping large plastics off the beds. The lake is fairly busy but the area itself is great for family friendly fun. Sand Dunes State Forest lays around the west side of the lake and the Sherburne National Wildlife Refuge offers many opportunities for the family between wildlife watching, nature walks/hikes and a variety of hunting in certain pre-determined areas for those who wish. Make the drive and take a look!

Heading to Blue Lake in Isanti County at day break for the morning bite. Hopefully be eating some papermouths and sunnies for dinner tomorrow!
