The day bite on the big lake has been a challenge this past week with all the heat from Mother Nature.  The mud flats are holding a few fish along with the deep break lines.  We broke out the lead core rods and started trolling crank baits.  This method of fishing requires details to get the crank bait to the right depth on the water column where you marked fish on your electronics.    More details on trolling with lead next week.

Good luck, be safe and we'll see you on the water!

I saw your truck up there on Saturday Bob, but I fell asleep and missed talking to you when you came back in.
I took my daughter out to the reef at 8:30 PM or so Friday night. We fished bobbers till around 1 AM Saturday morning. She caught a nice 23 inch fish at 12:45 AM, I caught 3 or 4 small 12 or 13 inchers that were to small for me to keep. We were going to head out to the flats with that calm water but never did make it. Saturday night we were out there till 1 AM again but nothing but little fish again. The wind picked up and started to blow so we beat it for shore.

Rained all Sunday for the most part, we headed back home at 5 PM.
