The rut

Has anyone seen any sign's of the rub going on, Iv have friend say they seen Bucks with there noise down and fallow doe's aready.
I have no sign's of any kind of rut going on.

I saw a real fresh ground scrape surrounded by a ton of monster buck tracks...

If you count scrapes and rubs, yes.  I have seen a few over the past weeks.  However, I don't think this is directly related to the rut as we know it.  The 8 point I watched the other day did not exhibit any behavior related to the rut.  I think we are 2-3 weeks from the start of rutting activity.

i have only been out once this season so far and the bucks are still hanging with each other on my hunting land haven't seen any rubs or scrapes yet

I have a trail cam picture of a little buck with his nose buried and chasing the doe. I'll post it latter.

I see bucks and does harassing each other all year long, I also see does and does doing the same and bucks and bucks. If you've spent any amount of time watching deer they are both playful and curious and also extremely picky about who is eating and/or browsing near them.

One thing that we have all seen over the last couple weeks is the bucks breaking up. They are getting territorial and with that will come rubs and scrapes. Every buck I have seen on stand since opener has been alone. Just think its that time of year, the other time will come...

still a little soon but i dont dout that someone has seen bucks chasing does. i have past on 8 different does and no bucks were anywere near them. still hoping for some love crazed monster to wonder past me at 20 yards

I've heard that the rut typically starts after the first full moon of the fall equinox.  We just had the equinox on the 22nd and the full moon was on the 23rd.  That's the first time it's come that early since 1991.  It will be interesting to see if the rut action picks up now because it was so early in the season.

YUP, Nephronracing is right.... I always go everyday when hit full moon around 23rd of Oct. I go everyday bow deer til i Kill monster or nice buck.....  THUMB UP

In D&DH magazine they said  that the heaviest rut activity won't be until later in November. One of the latest they have seen. But they did point out there will be some activity later in Oct as well just not full blown rutting. Just something that I read. Take it FWIW

well its different for every state. where is D&DH actually from? MN? last year around the middle of october i seen a buck chasing does grunting with his nose to the ground. also seen it on gun opener last year, just before i shot him. it ranges from area to area from state to state.

I have heard that there will be 2 swings of ruts in MN this year, and a pretty long rutting season.  The first will be late october to early november when the bucks and does are starting to mate.  Then the next is around mid to late november, when the bucks are trying to find those does who havent been mated.  I have heard many places that the rut is going to be spuratic (sp) and could be very dragged out, but not as active.
With the full moon coming Oct 23rd, i think there will be alot of activity around that time.

well ill be logging my days in the feild and movement along with rutting activity on here. i already started, its labeled deer movement and kills

havent seen much rutting on my hunting land yet all the rubbing is from pulling velvet and only found the one scrape on the field edge but i got a feeling it should pick up soon on my land with the cool nights and leaves falling i can't wait
