Rockman's Report/Looking good for the Full Moon!

I went to the foot Doctor on Tuesday, again, I had to get a check up on my blood work and stuff, get some things refilled and get the ok from the Doctor about being in the boat for the moon phase this month. He told me as long as I do not put any weight on the foot. It is still going to be a while before I have any weight bearing on the foot at all, it could be up to 4 months. I am just happy that it is still a go for the full moon this month. I am looking forward to that for sure; it will be a nice change for a few days to get on the water once again. I have only been on the water 5 days all year, and 4 of those days were for tournaments. That is an all time low in my life. Even as a kid I was fishing on the banks of the old Mississippi a couple times a week. I feel like such a lazy bum just laying around waiting for this dam foot to fuse. It has really been the most challenging thing I have experienced in my life and it has really been a struggle with my patience.

If I have learned anything at all through this ordeal, it is patience grass hopper. These fusions take a while to heal and I have to just let it take its course, in its own time. I am really looking forward to seeing all of you guy's next week and spend some time on the water. Well of course it will be just in time for the weather to change and get cooler than it has been. That is Ok though, I like it cooler anyway and it will bring in the bait fish and the tullebee's. It is suppose to get cooler starting next Monday, at least it is coming through earlier in the week rather than later in the week when we have our full moon phase starting on Tuesday night. It usually takes a day or so for the walleyes to adjust to the pressure and water temp changes. The water temps are at 56 degrees as of today, so we have a little wiggle room for water temps to drop off, as long as the wind does not blow like hell and get it all mixed up.

I like the water temps to be in the 52 to 48 degree range. The walleye bite that was on fire last week has fizzled out as of Sunday but there were more fish on the rocks on Monday and Tuesday night for the guys that were fishing on Anderson's Reef. They did very well from 7:00pm until 11:30pm in 5 to 7 ft of water pulling shallow running shad raps. That is a very good sign for the week ahead. I hope to see many of you next week and I am really getting pumped up for this. Let me tell you boys, it has been a long while since I have been pumped up for much of anything, if you know what I mean! I can feel that first crushing blow already! Oh my God, It's a 33 incher!!
