Friday morning my son had a doe come running right to his ladder stand.  She skidded to a stop inches from the ladder.  She was huffing and puffing.  After a few seconds rest, she turned and actually hit the ladder as she flew out of there.  A few seconds later a forker came running from where she came from.  He stopped about 15 yards from the stand looking really confused about where to go.  After a few looks around he chose to go west (the doe went east) so I guess she ditched the horney little bugger.

Thats exciting!  This morning in Cannonrough t Falls I saw 3 bucks cruising through the woods possibly looking for some hot does.  At 8:30 my buddy shot righ tover a nice 6 pt walking through a grass field and seconds after that got busted drawing back his bow by what he said was at least a 200lb 10 pt.  It seems like things are defenitely picking up!

Saw one horny small buck on Saturday chasin after a doe.

Also saw a few fawns running around, usually when i start seeing them it means they got run off, or couldn't keep up with mama when she was getting chased.
Marry an outdoors woman. Then if you throw her out into the yard on a cold night, she can still survive.

I noticed alot more bucks this weekend - so they are moving more!  I pulled out the doe urine this weekend thinking it was about time for some of the does to enter the first stages of heat.  It will only intensify as the days pass!!!

VERY NICE!  I would say the rut has started!  Alot of sources said it is about the right time to start and will go until the end of November!

Are you farther up north, or where are those pictures located Omin?

I think the smaller bucks are chasing the does - I dont think there will be breeding for a little while, and around that time the big guys will come and sweep the does off their feet.   and send the littler guy packing.....
Last week, I saw 2 bucks fighting - not sure if it was playing or they were actually fighting over the does they were with, im sure some aspect was to try to act tough!

Just about the same thing happened this morning in my back yard.  I was sitting working and out of the corner of my eye, I see three doe running through the woods.  Not unusual as they come through every day, however this time there we a fork buck chasing them.  Not just chasing, head-down full charge chasing.

I believe the rut is on!

Grand Rapids mn area going to work I took the dirt road, deer does and bucks running across the road, I could only drive 30mph with all the deer. The think iis it was windy and rainy and not good out at all. The went was 23 mhp and guss to 40+ you would thinkthey would be bedded down but no all day I was deer. Crazy.
The chase is on.

The weather will definitely get the rut going, so good luck to all.
Take a kid hunting and fishing... It'll be the best thing for generations to come.
