Cleaning Muzzies+

    A few years back when I got my Muzzy I read the instruction manual before I shot it.  I had no experience with these so I followed the directions in the manual to a T.  Once. What a mess.  Black powder  reacts with oil   blah blah.  Make sure the barrel is dry and lube lube lube. I would not shoot the thing if I had to do it the way the manual said you should.  I have an Encore 50 cal.  You can completely remove the barrel.   I took it to the do-it yourself carwash.  Put my quarters in.  Hit it with soap and hot water spray and then hot water rinse.  Cleaning done in 30 sec.  You will get wet.  You should have a glove of some sorts cause that water is hot.  The barrel will be dry before you can put the barrel back in your car or truck.  You also can use the rest of your wash time washing you vehicle.  I also don't like leaving mine loaded so I put the flip down tang on.  Turn it to the right and you can remove the breech plug and push your pellets or powder through.  I hate busy work.

     It works great.  Hang on to the barrel tight and you will get wet.  Lots of pressure.  Good luck!!   ( I may have over stated the time it takes.  It may be more like 10 seconds.  The spray hits you in the face if you don't hold the barrel down and to the side).

I don't have the pleasure of a removable barrel, but I dunk my TC diamond in the bath with hot water/soap and scrub it down. Mine is stainless so I just let it air dry as well.

I use a foaming cleaner. Spray it in from each end and walk away. Then after it sits for 1/2 hour or so I run a patch or 2 down and she is as clean as it was when I took it out of the box. I will get the brand and post it. Tried a few and this was the only one that worked this well.

I clean mine the exact same way to a "T"!  I use the CVA-Barrel Blaster Foaming Bore Cleaner but Cabelas and Bass Pro have the exact same things with their own brand names on them.  Works great so far for me.  At the end then I usually then run a pre-soaked Rust Preventer patch through the barrell and call-er good!

i have moly coated my barrel, same stuff as on moly coated bullets. helps alot! to clean i use  knight and hales foaming back powder bore cleaner. spray it down the barrel wait half hour and run a .50 cal bore snake down it and is supper clean!
