The ice has finally started to form on Lake Osakis. Not as much there now as there was this morning when I took the pictures. The wind and waves have been eating away at it. Still some left though. You can hear the ice breaking in the video as the waves hit against it.

Can't seem to get the video to work.

Ice was forming real good. Lake was about 2/3rds covered yesterday evening. Wind came up last night and today and wiped out most of the ice. There are still some areas where the ice goes out a couple hundred feet yet. Need the wind to die out for a couple of days so the lake can cap over. then the wind shouldn't bother it.

People venturing out on Lake Osakis in certain areas. Some spots still real iffy. People are fishing on Manthey's Bay on the NE. end of the lake. That's usually the first area to have fishable ice. Also just before dark I saw a couple of guys heading out from the access on Battle Point. They only went out a couple hundred feet and set up a portable.

Went out onto Schultz's Bay today with the one man. Had 6 inches near shore where we had ice early and then a little snow on top of it which probably slowed the development down a little. A little farther out where ice formed later there is around 8 inches with 5 inches of snow on top. Lot of 12 inch perch but no walleyes.
