New Bow??

I am hoping to get a new bow this Tax season I know its up to me on what bow feels best for me but im just looking for as much input on what you guys shoot and what you guys like to kind of give me a starting point right now i have a PSE but am really leaning towards a bowtech or diamond i really like how they shoot so any advise would be great thanks

I shoot a diamond and will stand by it. You can't go wrong with a Mathews though...

I shoot a hoyt and always have, but to be honest you really can't go wrong these days with the technology that comes out each season. It's just a matter of trying a few out (just like driving a car) and figuring out which one shoots well for you and doesn't break the bank. Go to a store and make sure you shoot a few before you make a decision.

It's amazing how far things have come just in the short time I have been bowhunting....heck my first bow was a GOLDEN EAGLE.....

How about a Hoyt? They are making some sweet bows. I shoot an alphamax and love it! I had the opportunity to upgrade this year to a maxxis but like my alphamax so much I stayed put. Guys that use the Maxxis say the same thing so I imagine they are just as nice. I shot the whole line of Hoyt bows last year and liked every one. I can't comment on the 2011 line as I haven't picked one up yet. Anything you chose will be good. Technology is up there and everyone who is making a compound is making a pretty nice bow! if you have your heart set on a new bow, like brand new, do yourself a favor and shoot every thing.
ask tons of questions. even if you think they're stupid questions, ask any way.
the people who get bored with your questions won't likely be very good in the service dept. down the road when you need them.

also, bows don';t hold their value very well at all. they want top buck for brand new equipment but trade it in next year or try to sell iut out right and see what you can get for it. it will blow your mind how much the value dropped.

some of the big name bows tend to keep their value a bit more, like Mathews and Hoyt.
dealers for the bigger name bows are easier to come by as well, in case you are away on a hunting trip and have an emergency.

elite archery has a policy you can't beat. if something happens to your bow while away on a trip, you call them and they will ship you a loaner bow to finnish your hunt.

when you return you ship the bow back and get yours repaired.

if you want to save some serious dough, look into a gently used bow.
a 2009 bow can be half price or less.
new old stock bows can be some of the best deals you'll see.

educate yourself before you buy and don't be intimidated by sales people. remember they are making a living trying to sell you something.

I have a 2010 hoyt turbohawk and a 2009 bear done deal.
I love them both.
bought the Hoyt for various reasons, primarily because the dealer lives less than ten miles away.

I shoot Mathews and nothing else I have a Z7 and a Z7 extreme. But they are some of the more pricey bows. There are a ton of great bows by all the companies but my none of my Mathews have ever failed me not saying other bows would have.

I have shot a lot of bows from most companies over the past three years and the majority of them are manufacturing great bows. I would decide how much you are willing to spend first and start shooting them from there.
Hoyt, Bowtech, Elite, and Mathews are the best high end bows in my opinion.
Quest, Mission, and Martin are friendlier on the wallet and make very solid bows as well.

If you can find some 2009 and 2010 un-used holdover's you should get them at a great price and be plenty happy with the results.

Biggest thing to do is go to your local proshop and shoot a few of them and find out which one feels the best to you...I know this year every company has a awesome line up...I just shot the hoyt line up and man i will tell you their Carbon Element is by far the best bow that I have ever shot in my life...I have shot alot of bows and that one is one of the only bows that after shooting it made my jaw drop. The only down side to it is that it retails at 1200.00 but if you are looking for the bow that will last you a very long time that is the one that I would get for sure...if you are not wanting to go that far Mathews has the Z7 Extreme which is a 28 inch axel to axel bow thats really smooth and a great shooter. That one goes for about 899.99 PSE has the Evo that has not been released quite yet, But that bow is a fast smooth bow but now a days almost every company out there has some more affordable bows in their line ups so you can find a bow that is in the right for your price range and you will still be able to get into a bow that still compairs with the top of the line bows as well.

i shoot a bowtech and i love it, i have no plans on buying a bew bow for awhile, its fast and light, little on the long side 39 inchs around there. i have a lots of upgrades on it.
