I was on my way home tonight from work and decided to take the back roads.  I passed a field that the farmer has left about 6 - 8 rows standing for about 100 yards and there was about 15 - 20 deer out feeding at about 4:45 this afternoon.  I could see three bucks in the group.  I might have to go see if he will let me try and get one of the does for my freezer.  It is fun to see them in the big groups!

I am definitely seeing the same thing - they go wherever the food is, which is scare with all this snow.
When I was coming back from Winona last weekend I saw about 12 deer feeding in a field of trampled corn.  It was neat to see, I rarely see all the deer in one place.... easy pick'n  ;)

I would say try to get that doe, Im hearing this is going to be a tough year for the deer with all this early snow (mostly in the South).... Up on our land near Alexandria, they only got about 4 inches this past weekend!

:deer:  Only 2 more weeks to get that venison in the freezer.

I know the snow is only going to strengthen the herd through suvival of the fittest, but I would hate to see multiple winters like this because I like to be able to shoot a doe or two for the freezer each year.  Hopefully we do not have too much more snow and cold this year, but nature will just have to take its course I guess!  It is really fun to see them all bunched up!
