We are currently fishing off of Pine Island in anywhere from 22 to over 30 feet of water. Our sleepers are on the ice and ready to go as well. They are set up shallow, for the early morning and late afternoon bite, in around 22 feet.

The best bite continues to be in 24 to 26 feet of water. We are fishing some houses out deep too, but it still seems the most consistent action throughout the day is in the intermediate depths. We are getting a mix of Walleye and Saugers. The Walleyes have not been coming in great numbers as of late, but there have been some BIG ones caught in the 26-30+ inch range. The Saugers are feeding heavy, especially in the deeper depths. A few guests were lucky enough to battle some BIG Sturgeon this week too. Glow red, gold, orange, and glow green were good colors this past week. Yesterday the fish overwhelmingly preferred jigging over deadsticking, but every day is different on the lake.

We are seeing 14-16 inches of ice in the areas we are fishing. Of course we have seen areas with more and less. Travel on the lake is good. The lake is covered with a mix of bare ice and patches of snow. There are some drifts over 2 feet deep in places, but they are easily avoidable.

Plowed Road Note: Our private plowed ice road will be open after Christmas to our guests that would prefer to drive out.
