When's the best time to go shed hunting?  I've never been and I'm looking for an excuse to do some scouting.  Do you start in winter, wait until it starts warming up or until most of the snow has melted.

Thanks for the answers!

well i look all season long but now is a great time to start kind of a pain with all the snow but sometimes you get lucky and stumble across one then as the snow melts it becomes a little easier to see them check food plots bedding areas fencelines heavy trails and put in a lot of foot work and you mite find one or two good luck  :happy1:

Indeed!  I would definitely wait until the snow goes away, unless you have some HEAVILY used deer trails that are walkable.
I was out a few weeks ago and was in knee/thigh deep of snow, so walking wasnt fun and my trip was cut a little short.  If you have snow shoes, they would wonders if you are trying to find where they are hiding out in the winter.
:happy1: GOOD LUCK!  I havent found any yet this year, but I will be looking more once the snow starts to melt.  I will be multitasking during Turkey hunting in April.

i went out the other day, and it was rough, theres way to much snow, so i have to wait until the snow starts to melt a bit.

I got a pair from LL Bean a few winters ago.  Easy to use and help a lot.
