Warm weather rolls in for the weekend. Predicted temps in the low 30s.  If the wind is down we will have a great day on Clearwater.  There will be a John Wayne vs. Clint Eastwood truce on this day.   We will be taking on the lake as a team.  The showdown will come this summer.  If you have not signed up yet get to it.  The General will be there with a basket full of excuses.  TIP  -Be sure not to be around or make eye contact with him when he yells "it's big you  grab it".    :rotflmao:

If you remember my auger throttle was frozen.  I chiseled  a hole in the ice with a swiss army knife while you were telling Fawk that he was not allowed to look at your flasher.  :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

So I'm still in contact with some people that fish clearwater almost every night. Action is picking up. The crappie bite is from about noon to 330-4 pm. They did not specify depths though. Also Im planning on getting a good breakfast in before the  :toast: starts. If anyone wants to meet up early to do the same, let me know. Looking forward to meeting everyone.

Is there a place nearby that we could meet for breakfast?

"Don't forget the extra $20.00 for a raffle calendar.  :USA:

I going to bring a number of them for anyone interested.

First Drawing
*ONLY 500 Printed (for the two grand prizes) so your chances are a lot better than the lottery*
(I don't know the exact number that will be sold but we estimate around 400)
1. Turkey hunt in SD with Ron Schara, and 2. 6 Day flyin fishing trip in Canada.

Second Drawing
*ONLY 100 Printed for our MDHA Chapter (we expect to sell around half of them)*
(Chapter prizes include a gun, knife etc and we hope to sell at least 50 of them)
1. Remington 870 16ga shotgun, Handmade knife and sheath, and several others.

**$20.00 Get you in both drawings (see prizes below)**

This Calendar provides information on season dates, sunrise/set times, wildlife activity, sports shows, plus much more.  There is something for almost everyday of the year.  Purchase one calendar and be entered into two different drawings.  The calendar alone has enough information to may it worth the $20 cost.

Do you think the eggs and bacon should be enough?

I talked to Bill at Bj.s to let him know we are coming.  Be there by 10am.  Some guys were catching panfish this afternoon.  Plenty of ice where we will be going.  There is a 4$ charge/vehicle  for his road system.  He should be able to point us in the right direction.  I picked up hot dogs, polish sausage and buns today.  Nobody should be hungry at the end of the day.  See you guys tomorrow.

:chef: Yippiee!  I will bring something - not sure what yet.
-- Glad to see some fish are biting.  I am shooting for a 30"+ pike - I will be OK with that.   :fishing2:

Should be a pretty warm day and the snow flurries are supposed to be light/non-exsistant.  See you guys there tomorrow.

Where does Randy reside?

Well fellas, you missed some good fun (but not the best fishing)  It was great meeting the guys and enjoying some laughs.
Myself, DDS, Fawk and his buddy, HD and the family, General, Upland, Tyler, Deadeye and Fireranger was the daily tally for the group - I hope I didnt miss anybody.
We moved around quite a bit to try to find fish.  We found a honey-hole of 4-6inch perch right away but the boss wouldnt let us stay.  Apparently The General didnt think they were big enough.  We finally settled hear some houses and caught the occasional perch and gill.
The Kick A$$ Grill did a fantastic job of cooking those weiners, good thing we had the extra larger weiner grabber  :happy1: and Deadeye brought tastey Venison sticks.
Thanks to Uplands plywood, there was no use for Doug grill chisel.
All in all it was a great day, weather was nice and the company was, well..... pretty darn good.  And the fishing was as cold as the beer.   :toast:

It was nice to meet you all - I believe Doug snapped some pictures.  For all you guys that couldnt make it, we hope you can make the next outing.   :happy1:

I believe the largest fish of the day deserves Trophy Recognition under their USERNAME.  :happy1:

I believe that trophy prolly belongs to HD's Son being he accually caught some fish worthy of keeping.

Also for you guys that werent able to attend weren't missing much when it comes to the fishing part other than MT slaying the miny perch and some good ol comradery.  But for the guys that were able to make it, it was good to meet you all and maybe I can meet up again sometime before May to get out and catch some fish.

Yeah that darn thing scared the crap out of me... And I know if it would have went off more than once it would have kept starttling me. I have never seen one of those noise makers before...

Did have a great time while there and it is nice to finally put some faces to names. Sorry that I had to leave early and get home. Would have loved to have fished and chatted more. Hopefully we'll get out again before the water softens up. Thanks to all who drilled holes and got the little fish for bait! Still have visions of that sucker DDS had in his bucket for bait......don't want to see the northern that would eat that thing....... :censored: HUGE!
Going South......in a manner of speaking!

It was a good time with friends old and new!
I drilled 50 holes all over that  :censored: lake try'in to find fish...I was think'in I should have drove through the narrows to fish the other end, but didn't know how the ice was through there.
Mama Hunter stayed in the truck, cause she wasn't gonna get out till we were set up...so the first couple hours she just watched me drill holes....

After all the  :bs: ing around, we stayed at a spot close to where we came onto the lake. The boy caught a couple decent gills...so, I set up... Mama fished in the house, she had several bites, but she never landed a fish. The gill bit was very light, and tuff to catch.

Around 2 we had lunch, and sat around   :bs: ing.

The "Duke" got his truck stuck and "Clint" had to pull him out...  ;D
