the add said they have 6.5/7/8's... any thoughts to maybe doing a warm up round at some point? haven't had the 525 out since I cleaned it months ago.

Hey guys, just got off the phone with Thunderpout and we think we have 5 committed for the upcoming sporting clays season.

Thunderpout, myself, Beeker, Pat #1 and Pat #2 are in.  Cody?  Are you able to shoot?

Anyone one else reading this thread interested in shooting with us?  Looking for two more shooters for sure.  Let me know if you're interested.  A great time with a great group of guys.

ya im in. ill talk to my buddy mitch and see if he wants to shoot with us(he shot with the team 2 years ago) he mentioned earlyer this year that he wanted to, so i just got to follow it up with him. i dont see myself taking to many trips this summer so it should be easyer to get out. only small snag i have is that i play football and thats every saturday (game times are still up in the air) so i have to shoot in the early am, right when they open. so thats when mitch and i will go if he is gonna shoot.

And we now have a full team.

Beeker-

I'm pretty sure I can get out next weekend to shoot.  Thunderpout said he was more than likely going to go then as well.  Are you available?  I am booked solid this weekend with family stuff and hockey.

No, the Saturday of Easter weekend.  In looking at the round schedule, they are as follows:

500 target league shooting schedule:
1st 100 ~ March 29—May 1. Closed on Sunday April 24th.
2nd 100 ~ May 3—June 5. Closed on Sunday May 29th.
3rd 100 ~ June 7—July 3.
4th 100 ~ July 5—August 14. No league shooting on July 30, 31 & August 6.
5th 100 ~ August 16—Sept. 8.

But I could always go up that last weekend of April as you are referring to for more rounds or a re-shoot.

Thunderpout and I will be out at 9AM.  Sounds like Pat #1, Pat #2, and others went out last weekend and it was windy!!!!

Well, the 2011 sporting clays season has officially begun and I still suck. And so did my gun.  We shot the Blue and Green courses to day and the weather was cool with some wind, nothing like last weekend.  Thunderpout finished with a 47 and 41, Pat didn't keep score, and I struggled with a 57.  I'm not making excuses (Beeker, keep that comment to yourself), but my gun kept jamming, wouldn't slide the action back far enough (gas operated), and then the firing pin wouldn't fire at times.  I did take it apart between rounds and it didn't work.  Time for a complete tear down and cleaning.  Oh well, a re-shoot will be occuring.

Beeker, I can make it out on Sunday May 1 if you can since Saturdays aren't working for you.  Let me know bud.

well we made it out last thursday. was a bit windy and i was rusty, weird thing was that i could hit the really hard targets and couldnt hit my  usual targets... i walked away with a 73 which is pretty good for my first time out this year. mitch shot a low 60's.

Good to hear you guys made it out.  Been a pretty crapping spring for the scores.  Looks like we only have 7 shooters, Beeker cannot get away enough to help out.
