Brian Inda of Wautoma has set the Wisconsin typical archery record with a buck scoring 187 5/8 inches.

The buck, taken November 2, 2010, was officially scored Saturday January 15th, in Berlin,Wisconsin, by a panel of Certified Measurers representing the Wisconsin Buck & Bear Club. The rack scored three-eighths of an inch higher than a buck killed by Barry Rose in Dunn County. Rose's buck had held the state record since 2006.

The panel consisted of Wil Resch of Berlin, Steve Ashley of Glenwood City, Dave Bathke of Franklin and Stan Zirbel of Greenleaf. All four are certified scorers with the Boone and Crockett Club, the Pope and Young Club and the Wisconsin Buck and Bear Club.

The rack had 12 scorable points, five on the right antler and seven on the left. It's inside spread was 22 inches; the longest tine was the left G2 at 14 7/8 inches, with three additional tines measuring over 12 inches! The main beams were 26 3/8 inches on the right and 27 0/8 inches on the left. The rack had a typical gross of 197 5/8.

Handle every stressful situation like a dog.  If
you can't eat it or hump it.

Piss on it and walk away

Wow!!  What a  beautiful animal, looks like he had big shoulders, small hind, must have been rutting hard, hopefully, a couple of his off springs make it to be that big. The  "Earn a Buck" must be working?

Hunting is not life and death. It is more important than that.

As a former resident of Wis and my brother is a huge deer hunter still in Wis, the "EAB" was put in place to control the doe population and bring it down to a "proper" doe to buck ratio.  I'm not sure what number the DNR had in mind, sorry.  Yet, the DNR miscalculated the herd numbers and many areas/units did not a have a doe harvest at all this past firearm season.  This could be from predation numbers, mortality, or over hunting with the EAB.  No one knows for sure.

EAB was first met with great anger and frustration.  When it first started, we heard stories of hunters shooting one doe and then registering the same doe over and over again to get the buck sticker.  Thankfully that has changed and hunters bought into the EAB format and in certain areas, they have a good ratio.

You may be referring to an antler restriction to grow bigger deer.  There have been previous posts regarding the point restriction. I'll search and find links if you like.  Wisconsin has big deer and has what it takes to grow big deer.  Cover, food, water, bedding, etc. And there is plenty more pigs running through the woods and fields just a big, if not bigger than this monster.
Take a kid hunting and fishing... It'll be the best thing for generations to come.
