LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!!

just a little heads up here to let you all know, that when filling out the user registration form for MNO, there is a space for your location.
some feel the need for annonimity and I can appreciate that.
there are advantages to posting your location. exact location is not nessecary. just general vicinity would do.

say I am going fishing over by detrioit lakes and I have an extra seat, if I knew that someone lived on the way, I could make correspondence with them and see if they would like to hop in enjoy an afternoon on the water or ice.
secondly, it makes planning locations for get togethers a little easier.
I guess it's also possible that some of us live right next to each other and dont even know it. we may have fishing/hunting partners close at hand.

so...if you dont mind, and you have the time, you can modify your profile to add your general location. if you cant figure out how, just post it here and we will do it for you if that works better.

Alright, How do you add your location to your name.  I just looked at my profile and can't figure it out.  let me know and I'll put my 10-20 by my name.

Blazer, click on your name in the upper left of your post.
that will bring you to your profile.
next, to the left of the profile information box, between the profile information and the links box, is a box that says "modify profile"
click on the second choice, "forum profile information".
then scroll down to the "location" text strip and add your information.

Thanks for the info. Iv'e lived in crystal almost 15 years and don't know many people who hunt or fish in the erea. i think this site will help with that.

If you go into your profiles, you can add your city in the "personal text" area too, then it shows under your avatar.

Look at my name on the left and towards the bottom, you will see that I am in Woodbury Mn.

Speaking from personal experience, I normally don't like to give out too much info when I visit sites until I really have checked them out and see what they have to offer and ask for. I'm sure some of our  members do the same thing, and hopefully as they spend more time here and learn what MNO is really about and stands for, they will feel comfortable with at least putting their "General area" into their profile info. The internet is a pretty scary place for most people to put any personal information onto. Lots of shady people out there making people weary these days.

Rest assured, your personal info is safe here at MNO and our member lists are not sold or your info given to ANYONE. It is simply for the benefit of other members who may be in the same area as you and are looking for other people in their area with similar interests to associate with.
