I took my oldest to her first MDHA banquet last night.  She had a great time.  She won several great prizes.  A montana buck decoy that she has already scared the dog with, fleece blanket, a mag light flashlight, and a bottle of doe pee from Whitcombs.  She also met the world famous DEADEYE who welcomed her into the MDHA and tried to talk her into going to forkhorn camp.  She is thinking about it but says that she would rather learn everything from me.  We didn't win any guns but deadeye's group again had its lucky horseshoe polished up and won the gun of the year.  I think it was a .243.  He can tell you all about it.  It has been WAY to long not belonging to a group of like minded people(hunters).  It felt great to join and become a part of the group. I look forward to doing more.
Thank you DEADEYE.

She really said she wanted to learn everything from you..... Man, I gotta have another chat with that young lady.   :rotflmao:
One of the young girls at your table did win a gun so you guys were close.  I'm glad you came and had a good time.  I was pretty busy and didn't get to BS as much as I would have liked to but I did meet a number of new members.  Thank you dakids I appriciate you bringing your daughter to the banquet.
Yes, I did win the gun of the the year. It was a Thompson Center Icon in a .243 caliber.  It has  engraving for Minnesota Deer Hunters Association on the action.  I had a secret weapon in use at the banquet.  My grandson drew the winning ticket.

Last night dakids gave me some tullibees he had just smoked.  I say he did a superb job of smoking them.  My hands are going to smell like smoked fish for as long as they last which won't be very long.  I love smoked fish so it's hard to say if you should change anything with your process.  I think it's great as it is.  I've had drier and more "smokey" taste but can't say that is better or not.  Thanks again for the smoked tullibees. :toast:

I had a GREAT time and next year I hope to win a gun.  Deadeye, If my dad doesn't know something I think I know where to get the answer.  He told me that you know everything about deer and have shot a lot of huge deer. Hope to see you soon.
Make your first shot count, it might be the only one you get.

Kid #1, Just keep practicing with your new bow.  I invited your dad (dakids) to bring you bow hunting on my land this fall and I want to see you shoot one with your new bow.   :archery:
