DNR fertilizes walleye eggs near Big Lake
Minnesota Department of Natural Resources fisheries specialist Tony Kenney, left, milks a female walleye of her eggs while Gary Benard preps a male walleye as Tony Standera uses a feather to help blend the fertilized eggs near Big Lake. They harvested 60 quarts of eggs Wednesday morning. The fertilized eggs will be transported to the hatchery in Park Rapids. The young fry will be returned to restock area lakes such as Andrusia, Big Lake, Plantagenet and Pike Bay. Pioneer Photo/Monte Draper
