I am happy to report that when you can get out on the water, the bite is pretty decent. The weather has not been even close to a normal weather pattern this year. The water is up at least 8 to 12 inches and the dock is only 2 ft out of the water right now that is how much rain we have had this year, and the water is only 46 degrees. We could do without the rain for awhile; it looks like we are going to get just that over the next 7 days. The weekend weather looks great and the bite will just get better and better from here on out with warmer temps coming up this week. The fish seem to be holding in 16 to 23 ft of water out in front and down in Vineland Bay. The evening bite is still best on the reefs in 10 to 13 ft of water.

The dock bite has been doing pretty good with the wind that has been blowing in here for 5 days now. There seemed to be more big fish caught, than slot fish being caught last weekend. The bait of choice finally is leeches, as the water down here has finally warmed up enough to get them to open up and swim, instead of staying in a ball. I have not gotten the chance to get out this week as of yet, the too do list was more important for now, but I am going to be on the water for sure on Thursday morning for a few hours on a guide trip. I will have a more hands on report for you then.
We do still have cabins #1 & #4 available for rent this weekend, so give us a call @ 320 532 3431 or check out the cabins at www.rockyreef.com if you decide to make a last minute decision to head up to the lake for the 3 day weekend!
Have a great week
