Memorial weekend is here already, wow where does the time go. Before we go out today lets take a moment and remember those who are and have served for our country to give us our freedoms and say a prayer for them all.

Fishing has been Great up here. this week I have been mostly on winnibigosh. The bite has really turned on with most of the fish being caught in that 6-9 ft range. When we had that East wind the north shore from the dugouts all the way to stoney was great fishing, tamarack bay was good as was the west shore. Once the North winds came we were at tamarack bay and up by Ravens and did well also.

So wherever the wind is blowing you look for that shore adjacent or blowing into and you will do well. I have been using a 1/8 oz northland fireball or gumball jig with a shiner, you can get away with using a chub we caught some with those too, but why, the shiners are in good supply and I like them. I have been seeing a lot of boats out here with a 10-15 mile an hour wind with a wind sock to slow them down? I have found for the most part with winds in this range are just right with no need to slow down.

Leech ahs been another one of our go to places lots of fish. Sometimes the hard part is finding keepers but that will change as we get going. Same jig and minnow presentation and depths as winnie.

I am thinking Memorial weekend should be a great weekend to fish so get out there and wet a line.

good luck fishing
