Portage County offers hunter safety course

The Portage County Sheriff's Department is offering a hunter safety course from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. June 13, 15, 16, 20 and 21 at the Sheriff's Department, 1500 Strongs Ave. A field day also will be held from 8 a.m. to noon June 18 at the Dewey Range.

Anyone 12 years and older can attend. There is a $10 course fee.
