    Taking suggestions for next years get together.  Lakes and months that would work for you.  :drinking:

Green Lake, east of Princeton... Nice Crappie and Sunnies with a chance at a good Walleye and Northern. Good structure (flats, humps, weedlines, dropoffs) and I have a friend who guides the lake for an inside line! Two accesses and ample parking at the gov. launch. Also, first ice or March are good times for this lake (as usual) for pannies and other fish.

    Now that we are getting closer to the ice season I want to bring this up again.  It is always fun to have a little MNO ice fishing get together.  Last year we went west to Clearwater lake.  The year before it was Minnewaska.  We have brought up Leech this February.  Any other suggestions.  If I go to Leech I will go for the weekend.  I have room to put up about 10 people for the weekend.  Leech is about 1 hr away.  If we want to do a day trip I am open for suggestions.   Post your comments here.  We are pretty much spread out so it would be fun to find a location where we could have the most members stop in.   Firerangers Green Lake suggestion is an interesting option.  Share your thoughts here.   :toast:

For me personally, a lake near the cities would be the best.  I dont think I would be able to make it up to Leech for the weekend, but who knows.

Green Lake does sound pretty interesting.   :happy1:

Other options could be lakes around the Chisago area, or Forest Lake, White Bear Lake, Lake Peltier, Lake Minnetonka.  Just throwing out some that were discussed last year as well.

NOW LETS GET SOME ICE!!!   :cold:

I like the idea of the Chisago area lakes too. Unfortunately I haven't fished any of them in the winter so I would not be much help as far as picking a lake or a spot.

     It has been quite a few years but I have fished the Chisago area before.  There is a lot to choose from.  Chisago, North and South Center.  I also fished a Green Lake up there once.  I don't doubt that we could get into some panfish.  I am interested in Firerangers suggestion also.   Keep the ideas coming.   :cold: :cold:

   Minnetonka has been mentioned.  Do we have any members with inside information on ice fishing any of these mentioned lakes.  It is always fun to try a new lake.  It really helps if we have someone that knows their way around that can steer us in the right direction.

     There will be a group of us hitting Leech the weekend before eelpout.  We will also be doing  a local get together somewhere around the metro.  Timing and location will depend on ice, snow and scouting reports.  This location and date will be up for discussion for a while yet.   :scratch:

So, where are we at the moment with this years get together? Haven't heard much as of late. We should get a plan together and a back up as well considering the weather may not cooperate for one lake or another.

    I never thought I would say this but the winter is going fast.  Right now Eelpout on Leech is for sure.  If we get some ice from the impending cold front (that never comes) we can set something up.  I want to take a run to Perham and Ely yet this winter.  The season is going to be over before it starts. :banghead:

   Right now the only thing we have going is the Eelpout Festival.  There will be a group of us there for the whole weekend.  I'm sure some may stop over for the day.  As we get closer we will have more details on the location to look us up.  We have a Ninja t-shirt guy that is trying to keep a low profile.   :reporter;

Ely Sounds like a plan there bud.

If you make it up to Ely don't mention my name. That is unless you want a swarm of young maidens throwing flowers at your feet. Also the news media will be following you up and down the streets at the mere mention of my name. Now if your looking for some peace and quiet I recommend going fishing with greatoutdoors. There you will get plenty of rest. You won't bothered by any of those imaginary Burntside lake trout. The only problem would be you'll keep dozing off while listening G.O.'s endless fishing stories.
