With the way the weather has been, and choosing not to go outside if I didn't need to.
I decided to tie up some crawler harness snells yesterday. I had gotten lazy, and have been purchasing off the shelf ones. But, I made a trip to Fleet Farm and couldn't find the colors and lenghths that I prefer.

So, I decided to give it a shot again.....

The hard part is the older you get, your eyes start to go...

The first one took me litterally 2 hours to tie, because I couldn't quite remember how, and I couldn't see worth a  :censored: even with my cheater glasses on. So, I went out to the garage and pulled out my machinist magnifiers just so I could get the job done.

The older you get....the harder it gets...  :doah:

I hear ya HD I have a few fishing buddies that I kid. When I go fishing with them it is like taking out the grand kids as I have to tie their knots for them. Of course while I am tying their knots they are fishing with another rod. Any thing to keep my lure out of the water when we have our friendly little boat competitions.

It evens out though because if I forget to bring my glasses, (I am near sighted.) I can sometimes make the boat rides interesting for them.

I too have noticed the loss of close up vision in the last two years.  I wear surgical loupes at the office but now I have to use cheaters on the water to tie my fishing knots.  I will be making some spinners and crawler harnesses soon.  HD are you using mono or flouro for your rigs.     I think I am going to use 12lb flourocarbon for this next batch.  I have always used mono in the past.

Yea, I use ta to use mono too...

I tried to tie a few with mono, but, my fingers just couldn't do it.

So, I switched to some of the hybrid braided....and they turned out sweet!  :happy1:

Remind me at camp to show you an easy way to tie these. You may not even need the cheaters.  The fingers won't be a problem either.   ;D

I don't have to declare my trumpet at the border do I?  My neighbors call it a weapon of mass destruction.    ;D
