I bought a new Guide Gear 16' ladder stand from Sportsman's Guide, cost me $80.  I as disappointed with the instructions though, you can barely read the damn thing!  From what i saw on the reviews though it looks like you can manage without them.

My brother and I planned out and built a shooting shack for my Dad this year. He broke his neck about 8 months ago and never regained much mobility or strength, so this was the best option for him to keep hunting.
It stands about 12 ft off the ground with a nicely sloped stair case leading up to it.

Sorry to hear about your dad's accident.  Glad he will be able to continue hunting.  I'd like to see a picture of the final product on location.

Thanks deadeye. I am just happy he is still able to get behind the rifle and shoot. We have a real dandy roaming around out there and I hope he screws up and gives my Dad a shot!

My sister has some pics of us putting it up, I will see if I can get them from her in the next couple days and get them posted.

I would love to see those picture too.  We did something similiar for my grandpa after he had a stroke back in the mid 90's.  We all enjoyed the few more years hunting with grandpa.

I hope that dandy walks out by your dad.  That would be a treat for your whole hunting party!  Way to go!   :happy1:

It has been so slow today, I hopped out and snapped a picture if the finished product. So far my nephew is the only person to take a deer from it.
