Vexilar hands down in my opinion.  I'd also pick a Vexilar over all the rest.

What is it you like about the vexilar? How do you read a vertical water column on a circle?

Id go Vexilar unless you fish with other guys a lot that have old vexilars(8's).... then interferance plays a role(ie in same icehouse).  Why I now use a Hummingbird icefishing. ;D  Which BTW is GREAT!!! Watch Reed's they sometimes have real sweet deals on icefishing electronics, a couple years ago they were about giving away Marcums when new models came out.

The numbers just get higher going around the circle.  Once you use one you will understand very quickly.

In regards to what Corny13 said.......I'm watching for the sales on a Bird Ice55 and plan on getting one.  But I also have an Fl-18 currently. If I could only have one the reason I would by the Vex is because you can find parts for them almost any where.  What I'm saying is for example you lose you transducer down a hole or out on the snow transporting.  If there is a place around the sells a new one they will have Vex parts before all the others.

I went from a FL8 SLT to the FL20 last year. I couldnt be happier, I cant wait to use it again this year. My FL8 was 10 years old and still running, enough said.

.....marcum lx3!    I had a vex fl8 at one point in time and didnt think its resolution was as crisp and thin as the marcum could get.
