I thought about getting a range finder.  I was wondering your thoughts.  Does a guy really need one with the ARC function aka compensation for shooting out of a 15ft ladder stand?  Has anyone had better luck with one brand or another?   I'm also looking to spend under $200.

I have a Leupold RX-ll with angle deflection.  To be quite honest unless your firing at a very steep angle with a bow it doesn't seem to make much difference.  My bow hits were I point it within a few inches no matter what.  I guess it can make a little difference but doesn't seem to be much.  The yardage never reads more than 1/2 a yard difference with the deflection setting or without.  My two cents.

I just picked up the Nikon Archers Choice range finder for archery season. Fleet Farm has it on sale right now for $225.00 here and then Nikon has a $60.00 mail in rebate on it so you only end up paying $165.00 for a finder that was originally priced at $259.99.

It has the ID (Incline/Decline Technology) and comes with a soft neoprene camo case and lanyard strap. It ranges from 0-100 yards in 1/2 or 1/5 yard increments depending on if you have the ID on/off. Great buy in my opinion for archery hunting. Good luck !!!
