Does any of you know what a scratcher is?

Fishaholik does for sure, how about anybody else?

Well how about some clues or can we play 21 questions???

1st question:

Is it something that is made from "scratch", hence the name?

I'm not sure how a scratcher fits in with ice fishing, but I've always thought a scratcher was a baseball player who gets caught on TV scratching himself.   ;D

Mayfly has it right! The one in the pics he provided looks like a great rig. My dad has one similar.

Good Job MayFly!

I rode in one with Fishaholik, his grandpa and his dad years ago. We crossed the Mississippi above the Genoa Wis. dam.

The thing just flew along with all us and our gear

The only place I ever saw one was down in the Mississippi river valley by Lacrosse

Very cool invention. 8) I could just see Dr. Bob and me racing down the lake IN Reverse with that thing. I bet we would get a lot of respect as we approached our fellow anglers. ;)

On another note, it wouldn't be such a bad thing to have a few of these Ice Scatchers around the busy lakes early in the season. I bet it could be quite a rescue unit during thin ice times

There is something on the market that is very similar. It is the Wilcraft. Same idea. The thing floats as well. I was by their shop yesterday and they are selling like hot cakes!
