It will soon be that time of year again.  Last year we suffered a long winter and for some of us the early snow pretty much wrecked the ice accessibly.  The metro got the rain that knocked down the snow.  North of Garrison they got heavy snow  instead of rain that worsened the slush problems. Please feel free to enter our first MNO fishing challenge.  Details will be available soon.  We are tentatively planning a get together at leech lake in Walker Minnesota sometime in February.  Just before the Eelpout festival.  If you ice fish or would like to learn you have come to right place.   :happy1: :happy1:

I cant wait - I need early ice this year, so I will be praying for cold, and no rain this time.  I have a LOTW trip booked for the middle of December, so I am hoping there is good ice up there by then.  With my work schedule I will be able to get out most morning, so I am just waiting for the thermometer to start tickin down.

I'm hoping for a good December. Last year really messed up the ice conditions in my area. Too much snow too early. I thought about going up north, but never did. I got a bunch of stuff last year that I never got to try out.

Problem last year was the heavy snow came before we had good ice.  The snowmobile doesn't help when you have 2-3 inches of slush.  The lake I primarily ice fish has had 3 bad slush years in a row.  I'm really getting tired of having to deal with it.  I think most big lakes north of Garrison were bad last year.  They did not get the rain we did in the cities to knock the snow down.  Pray for  :cold:  :cold:   then the  :snow5: doesn't bother me.

Lets pray for NO early snow and NO wind so we get a solid start and then bing it on! I have a trip to URL in December and plan on brining my wife out for her first URL trip! It should be good as long as the ice Gods bring use some good ice!
