I was lucky enough to try out the new crossbow last night at a distance of about 44 yards.  It came in right before it was time to pack up and go home.  My phone died and I was only able to get one picture (to busy texting my other friends who were also out last night).  But I wanted to show what a bolt traveling at 385 fps with a Rage 2 blade does to deer.  The arrow went right through the deer and the blood trail was instant.  I knew the general direction he went but the woods was thick in the direction he took off.  Following the blood trail a half hour later in the dark wasn't a problem.  He ended up going about 40 yards.  He was a nice 8 pointer.  Going to be good eating.  He also showed zero sign of being in the rut.  The bad thing is now I'm done deer hunting for the year.  Leaves me more time to pheasant hunt.  Good luck to the rest of you this year.

I just bought the new Bowtech Strykzone 380 this year.  When we crono'ed it out of the box stock it was at 383 fps on the first shot.  It is pretty bad a$$.

Good job. Did you look at the Barnett Ghost 400 for comparison?

I did not.  I looked at the PSE that's 400 fps but it was so long.  I also looked at Excalibur, Ten Point, and Horton.  The Barrnett Ghost looks pretty nice.  Do you know if for $900 you get the scope, quiver, and arrows?  If so that's a pretty good price.  I paid $650.00 for everything.  Plus Bowtech's Lifetime warranty.  On a side note I thought all the crossbows I looked at were nice and would do the job.

P.S. One other thing that really sold me on the Strykezone 380 was the 3 pound trigger.  The person at the archery shop told me (he never had this bow in his shop before ever and it was the first time he ever shot this bow) it was the nicest trigger he's ever shot on a crossbow.
