October 21st Fishing Report

The bite is still very good on Lake Sharpe however were to fish in the Pierre area is harder to decide as the bite on lower Oahe is also excellent. A lot of bigger fish are now showing up on the big lake with numbers of over 20 inch fish and slot fish in the 19 inch range common. On Oahe the fish are being caught in around 20 to 25 fow. mostly on bare hook crawler rigs along with jig/minnow presentations. Dam to the Cheyenne river up to Bush's landing are all good choices. Fishing pressure is minimal so you can expect to fish almost alone if you like.
Sharpe still great with the same baits but bite mostly in 10 fow or less from the dam down river 15 miles. Trolling plugs also good on both lakes. I am starting to taper down on frequency of reports as fishing season winds down but will continue to do around one a week as long as weather holds. It has been a very good year for fishing in the Pierre area and the fall bite is big time.
