Shot a nice buck today
Trailed him for about 150 yards and then called a couple more guys to help because the blood stopped. Looked for about 6 hours today. Maybe try again in the mourning. That sucks. :banghead:

     Sorry to hear that partner.  My rifle season is looking like a bust.  I have not seen or heard a dear on our property.  I drove around on Sunday to check out a couple of other areas I hunt.  I couldn't find any sign and if we don't get a dusting of snow before next weekend I think I will be blanked for the rifle season.  Hopefully by the muzzy season we will have a little snow on the ground because without it at this point I am in trouble.

Might have been brisket. The blood wasn't high on the weeds, but it almost looked like it was coming out both sides. When I shot it looked like it was towards the front end when he flinched down. Both slug guns are sighted in for 100 yards and that is what this was. The bolt is more accurate and of course I had the semi auto that day because I thought I might do some walkin after the stand hunt.
