Before I had dogs we used to just seal the door way with that window treatment that you shrink on with a hair dryer.

After the dogs we never did any thing to it so we can let the dog out in the back yard all winter.

Any ideas on how I can keep the cold out and still have a functioning door way?

I tried just sealing half but it didn't hold up well with every day use.

Benny?

They make a patio storm door, but that will set you back a bit more.  Helps to keep the cold out in the winter and the heat out in the summer.

We have a thick (it may be insulated) curtain that helps to keep the cold air from blowing right in.
