I have also seen bucks chasing does around in the past week also seen rubs popping up were scrapes were. The uncle had a small buck come into a grunt the other morning he thought the rut was done. Is it still on pretty good or is in dieing down now?

has the rut even started? i mean besides a few little fork horns harrassing does, every doe ive seen has been alone with no buck in sight. its discouraging. probably the slowest year for a rut that ive ever seen!

Opening weekend, I seen alot of chasing, and the bucks were bedded with the does.  They would stay tight - usually they are the first to get up, but in most instances they would wait for the doe to bolt first.
I had some bucks come into the grunt calls - for me it was a pretty good sign, we saw lots of bucks of all age classes, so next year is looking good already!

I seen a lot of action the first 3 weeks in Nov but it has died down big time. Most does are with fawns and most bucks are moving at night. Hopefully they get going again

I was out yesterday with a friend.  We saw does with fawns in the morning.  Later in the afternoon my friend saw a very nice buck crusing.  The buck was a close as 30 yds but never gave a shot.

Thats the story of my season so far. Seen big buck as close as 5 yrds no shot happened 4 times already this season. Thats the thing rutting bucks = very unpredictable Im hoping late season bucks = predictable
