Ok so I'm attempting to do my first antlers mount. Got a 6 with the bow, brought it in for processing and cut the antlers off with the top part of the skull. Went to Fleet Farm n got a plaque, wire brush, n sum borax. Anything else I need? What's the best way to get the hair off the top of the skull?

Congrats on getting a buck you want to mount.

A sharp knife and some delicate scraping.
Just skin the hide away then clean around the base's as best you can.
A skull cap should take less than an hour to clean up real good.

a sharp knife is good.. also some razor blades where you can just toss em when their dull works really good. once you get in there with the razor the hair around the antler will just peel right off.
If science fiction has taught me anything, it's that you can never have enough guns and ammo when the zombies come back to life... "WS"

Beeker and Ray are right on.
Worst case you might have to use a small chisel and scrape it off that way. A sharp knife should work though.
Congrats on the buck!

I have just boiled them, skin falls off, maybe a good blow with the air compressor then soak the base in bleach for a bit.

Ive allways just used a knife and scrape the top off. on the brain side you can stick the tip of the knife in along the cut and it will peel off in layers, like a tough sticker. it will be really clean underneath. as long as you scrape the top good and clean it wont smell at all and doesnt need to look pretty with bleach as it will be covered anyways. thats the simple way to do it anyways. the tricky part is getting them on the plaque they way you want them.
my wife said it.... im OFFICIALLY ADDICTED to MNO!!
