Very nice, there's nothing better than seeing your child holding a big fish with a smile on their face!  How big was it?

Thanks for all of the compliments guys.  Here is the story.  I took my 9 year old daughter and 11 yr old son out fishing yesterday after school.   We got to the fishhouse and they had to decide who got the first bite.  Since we were going to be playing yatzee I suggested that they shake the dice and who ever rolled the highest total would get the first bite.  Well she rolled 18 and he rolled 19.  About an hour later the bobber starts going down real slow and my son (first time out this year for him) is getting excited and saying should I set the hook should I set the hook?  After telling him to relax a little  I tell him to set it.  I could tell by the way he was pulling the line up that it was a good fish.  When I seen the head in the hole I thought for sure it was a ten pound fish.  So I am reaching down to pull it out of the hole and it shakes free from my grip and I could see that it wasn't hooked good and I thought well there it goes.  But as luck would have it I got another chance to grab it and this time it didn't get away.  After a couple high fives I measure the fish and it was 27 in. and weighed in at 7lbs.  I would of tried to talk him into releasing the fish but upon inspection I seen that the air bladder was in the throat so the decision was easy.  Plus I didn't have to see the dissapointment on his face if it would of been released.  The fish is currently in the freezer and will be brought to the taxidermest after christmas.  As far as bragging rights he definatly has them.  The wife and I have put in close to 30 hrs this year and only caught a 17in. and a 7in. walleye.  Fishing has been really sloooow.  Drinking has been better.  He definatly has clamp potential.
