Just thought I would share some fishing info. Big birch lake was prodcing walleyes earlier this week but has slowed a bit. Hunters bay was producing some nice pan fish but you have to chase them and parking lot usually full. Big sauk lake has been good for spearing up by 71  and heard some nice crappies coming out of there also towards large part of lake. Ice is iffy all over most people on foot or atvs. Water clarity is big issue for spearing on most lakes, alot of them 3or 4 ft. And of course minnawaska like always lots of pan fish action, northerns on tip ups has been great, spearing not so good ,water clarity again. Heard some lakes in richmond  eden valley area putting some dndy crappies as well 12=15 inchers. Thats all folks , have a great holiday weekend everyone.

Walleyes have slowed on big birch lake and so has there size, lol . Crappies and sunfish reported to be biting on big sauk, size to be determined. Lots of spearing going on long lake, and two rivers, sucess really havent heard much. Big swan producing panfish. Was on waska tuesday  fish there but tight lipped most of the day but managed a limit of nice sunnies.  Key is stay out side of big groups where not so noisy. All the atv traffic  and john deere riding lawn mower with straight pipe doing doughnuts on the ice every hour  can keep you entertained, lol

well last nite channel 4 at 10 pm said the DNR is asking everyone not to drive any type of vehicle on lakes until it gets colder and has a chance to build up more ice.

I was on big sauk lake last night crappies were there size wasnt on most iced 2 were about 10,11 in. others were 8,9 in, Millions of perch. St marys  lake has a few nice crappies but slow now, be a lake to keep an eye on though when they start there will be nice fish. Kings lake was like pea soup and havent seen much action out there. Long lake has a pile of spear houses on it. Big Birch  I guess they are still catching a few eyes yet.  Oh yeah  Ice on big sauk was about 9-10 in i'm guessing good wheeler ice, but of course there was a guy who went right down middle of the lake last night with a jeep doing about 40-50mph   :bonk: You would think after a guy goes thru on fairy and another goes through on big birch people would be a little more careful.
