I am looking for some advice on summerizing my gas auger. Bought it last fall so this is my first time storing it. What do you guys do with your auger when you retire it for the summer. Seems like I have heard that fuel stabilizer might not be the best solution.

Thanks guys for your deep thoughts.

Doug, here is what I do I run all by equipment out of fuel whether it my lawn mower, snow blower or auger. Never had a problem when I fuel them to use it. Don't store them for the season with fuel in them.

I pour out the gas and run it dry.  It's worked for me.

i pour out most the gas, and i use the high the non-oxegenated gas, ad stabil a wee bit of seafoam run it a bit spray  the fogging oil in it till it dies. let engine cool take plug out and spray a bit more fogging oil in cylinder then put away. stars second or third pull every time come fall. but then again i do have a jiffy!!!! :coffee: :whistling: :whistling:

there is some debate over weather running it dry and storing it that way causes carb issues, more so gaskets drying up,wont go there. but this is what i do and have had no issues so i will continue this practice.

hope this helps. :happy1: :happy1: :happy1:

I sold my last auger about 10 yrs ago. I figured that's about as simple as it gets for me.

The best way is run a little stabil tell warmed up, dump all the gas out. Starte up and run dry.

I empty out most of the fuel from the tank and run it empty.  I hadn't run my auger in 3 years and it started this past winter on the second pull.
Take a kid hunting and fishing... It'll be the best thing for generations to come.

well I will tell you what I do and why!!

I do not use stability, wast of $$$
I all so do not run all my equipment out of fuel dry out your gasket, make need and set stick,

I fill them full of gas, Why the more gas in them the less change of it to go bad, by fulling the tank no moister can build up, With no air in the tank the gas can not go bad.
