the big lake Winnie shall be considered ice free today. what little remains piled up on shore will stay there until it melts away.
yesterday found a hundred yards of ice along the shore south of Tamarac point down past the Three Birches landing. thnorth west and south shores were ice free. Tamarac bay had a sliver of ice out from one point but it was fading fast. the near inch of rain that fell over night will have killed anything free floating.

the rest of the lakes east of there as far as I know are ice free also. there was some ice on Deer lake and Moose lake but it was thin and surrounded by large areas of open water. if any remains today it won't be but another day or so.

Bowstring lake, Ball CLub lake, Pokegama lake, are all ice free as well as any of the smaller lakes I checked yesterday. one weekend we're ice fishing the next weekend we're in the boats. and it's not even april yet!
take a kid hunting and fishing!!
