choices?

Last night I took the twins to the MDHA banquet in Big Lake.  We entered a few of the raffles and were having a good time.  They started the youth drawing and there was one 22 cal plinkster left when they pulled my daughters ticket.  I thought it would be an easy pick for her.  I went up there with her and she wanted the youth toy bow over the gun.  I offered her money to pick the gun but she had her heart set on the bow so that is what she picked.  As we were getting her picture taken they drew another ticket and it was her twin brother.  I figured he would get the gun but he also chose a bow.  On the way home I asked them why the took the bows and they both said at the same time, "We have guns at home but we don't have bows."  This morning we set up the bows and they have been shooting for about 2 hours.  It looks like the kids are the smart ones because the bows are proving to be a better choice.  We also won 2 art plates, A blaze orange backpack, pretty necklace, free car washes(traded to deadeye for a swiss army pocket knife),  a matching swiss army knife for the other twin, 2 t-shirts, and 2 signs.  the kids are already talking about going back next year.  Thank you Deadeye, we had a blast.

Yes, they provided some real entertainment at the banquet.  Everyone was wondering who would win the "pick me" choice between you and your daugher. Then we had a second go around when your son's name was drawn.  I guess there is a life lesson here.  We can guide our kids and make suggestions but ultametly they make the choice.   And, often it turns out to be the right one for them.  Glad you had fun.
