Is there a way to request them by mail?  I just don't want to wait in line at a license place only to have them not know what I'm talking about.

Just another way for the DNR to cash in.  Getting rediculous if you ask me.  How much are these "FREE" stickers costing the tax payers?  Just another reason we don't need to raise the lic. fees.  Government wastes money on stupid stuff like this.

Not knowing the law is not an excuse.  The state shouldn't be wasting money on this.  Soon they will start fining everyone that doesn't have the sticker on the boat.  Cash Cow is all it is.  Maybe we should require stickers at the Tax Payers expense for having life jackets out, fishing with the right amount of lines, not throwing trash in the lakes, etc.  Again I say don't ask for a lic. fee increase when you are going to waste money like this.  If the DNR would hire me and pay me 50cents on every dollar I could save them I'm betting I'd be making a pretty good salary

Do not get me wrong General  We are on the same team here, I am for  lic not to go up, At less for Minnesota But I do think they should for out of state Lic

The hole point here is to make people where of the spread, and try to stop it, If they have to kill out a lake what do you think that will cost us!!!  I think a little $$ spent here is worth it If that will save one lake and all the fish in it,,   :Fish:

Wild let me ask you this.  Who is going to stop the ducks from spreading it?  I think the people (like us) who take the time to try and not spread these things are going to do it with or without a sticker and vice versa.

On a side note I read (I don't remember the guys name) but he is working on introducing a herpes virus that will kill zebra muscles and not harm the fish.  This is something I think is worth taking a look at and spending money on.  Not on stickers and duck and geese washing stations. ;)

Then maybe we  :fudd: more duck,  :rotflmao: :rotflmao:  :oops1:  I like your point, Yes duck can spread but it would take longer as us people can spared this a lot faster,

Ignorance of the law has never been an excuse.  This is another example of a huge waste of money by a government organization with a never ending thirst for more.  Show us where the $ are spent before asking for more.   :puke:  These government entities must constantly dream up ways to drain their coffers so they can scream poverty and try to say that any increase less than they received in the past is an unbearable cut.  :banghead:

So you know what a waste of money is, Stop signs! Everyone knows you are suppose to stop and come to think of it yield signs are another waste of money, might as well get rid of them "Dangerous curve " signs and deer crossing signs, I never see the deer obeying them. Why have invasive stickers when everyone is suppose to know about them, no sense in reminding people of a problem with a sticker that cost each tax payer about .0001 of a cent.  :coffee:

So, would it be feasible not probable that an out of state person could get a ticket for not having one of these stickers on their boat while trailering a boat in MN?  What do you think?

Maybe big Bertha hast to put one on her butt when she goes swimming.   I put one on my grand kids floaty.   I wonder if they intend to check all the milk jug rafts at the Mpls aquatenial?  Then there is tubing.  Life jacket, check.  Rope, check.  Decal, check.....

Now you would think your out of state license plate and boat registration would get you off the first time at a check point where you would be given a sticker and the lecture. After that you should be treated like any other boater using the water. But

Not even close to being comparable?     If you wanted to use this as an example we would have to have a sticker on our car to remind us to stop at the stop sign (which would be a waste of money then).  Like we already have signs posted at the landings to remind us.  We don't need to waste money on a sticker too.

Stop lights are those things that turn red yellow and green.  Brake lights are on the back of objects to tell others they are stopping or slowing down.  Im really beginning to doubt your police officer claim.   :offtopic:

I know that the cops are pushed into examining anything marine because this is so much of an emergency. And you will be fined to extinction if a duck has a piece of milfoil fall off it's leg and it lands on your boat.

Exactly Ken!!!!!!!!

I'm also glad bobby finally agrees Brake lights and not stoplights are on the back of your vehicle.   :happy1:

I'm also glad we can agree on.........from Wiki........Traffic lights, which may also be known as stoplights, traffic lamps, traffic signals, signal lights, robots[1] or semaphore,[2] are signalling devices positioned at road intersections, pedestrian crossings and other locations to control competing flows of traffic. Traffic lights were first installed in 1868 in London, and today are installed in most cities around the world.

I went to three places looking for these decals.  So far no luck.  Two places sold license's and bait.  The other (a large sporting goods store) ok, I will name drop - Gander Mountain, didn't know what I was talking about.  Finally one guy said I have to go to the DNR to get them.

 Q. What is the aquatic invasive species rules decal and how do I get one?
A. A new law passed in 2011 (Minnesota Statues 86B.508) requires a watercraft owner or operator to obtain and attach an aquatic invasive species rules decal to all types of watercraft prior to launching on, entering into, or operating on any waters of the state. The decals are available at DNR offices, Deputy Registrar offices where licenses are sold, and large sport shops, as well from DNR Watercraft Inspectors and conservation officers. They will be included in the envelopes of new and renewal watercraft licenses mailed from DNR. They are free.

I am trying to avoid going to the DMV because it's usually a bad experience there.

I will need about 150.   I'm sure I should have one on all my decoys.  When can we expand the program to have no texting, seat belt mandatory, use your turn signal stickers posted on the outside of our car?  I'm sure it would help with compliance.   :banghead:  :banghead:

The only logical explanation for this boondogle is somebody that makes stickers is either related to, or a big donator to some higher up that scored him a nice fat state contract.
